When potholes is chosen the following appears
Immediate safety concerns ( i.e.cave-ins ) should be called into either the police or DPW at 203-946-7700.
I would like to add you can then post to alert others and to have a record it was called in. This site is not monitor 24/7 by the city and a delay in getting something like this taken care can cause serious problems.

It’s 1:40 am and I just ran into this pothole! Totally destroyed my front tire and rim!!!
It’s dark and impossible to see!
Need to call AAA to have either a tow or spare put on.
