Description
The location in front of 9 Geary Street and at the corner of Main Street where the funeral home plows the snow, continue to be a problem going back many years. The town refuses to enforce the bylaws, creating a hazardous situation for pedestrians.

The private snow plows used by these two locations are piling up snow on the sidewalk making it impassable and dangerous for pedestrians.
As far as I understand, this is a violation of Stoneham bylaws. It has been addressed year after year and the town is not enforcing the bylaw at this location.

This area should be monitored during this upcoming snow storm. The town is ignoring its own bylaws and putting pedestrians at risk by allowing residences, businesses, and apartment buildings to plow in sidewalks throughout town.
The town (police) have just received a large grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, Office of Grants and Research - Highway Safety Division, with funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, to enhance pedestrian safety.
The contact information for these agencies can be found online. They should all be contacted if Stoneham continues to ignore pedestrian safety by ignoring these bylaws.
