This is still a garbage disaster. Also, a car has been there blocking the sidewalk.

Yes, it's a continuous mess. Bins are never put away and the car creates an impasse. Pedestrians forced into the street.

Litter enforcement officials responded and spoken to homeowners the trash receptacle will be removed from the street and onto the property once trash collection is complete

Thanks to litter enforcement for the effort but, as of this morning, the bins have not moved. The white car is no longer blocking the sidewalk but is now parked next to a No Parking sign.

"On to the property" meant that the trash cans are now on the tree belt, between the sidewalk and the street. That's really not taking care of the issue. They have a garage and driveway, maybe they can use those areas like the rest of the neighborhood.

People are selfish SLOBS and I guess our taxes are not high enough to "Keep Hamden Green".
Those signs litter our town and are a joke. Fines need to be put in place and enforced. I'm so sick of looking at the trash all over this town. Please post an article in the newspapers and send updated trash and litter notices home from school wth the children to have signed by parents.
ACTION is needed to make these slobs take notice and responsibility.

In addition to trash cans, the parking situation is horrible. People are allowed to park on sidewalks and lawns despite the abundance of parking lots and driveways all over town. How about ticketing cars parked illegally? Pedestrians should never be forced into the street or feel like their walkways are being used as someones personal parking space.

Trash that isn't picked up also ends up going down storm drains and into our water supply, There are parts of Lake Whitney become piled up with trash.

The town's Solid Waste Ordinance required that trash/recycling containers be put out no more than 24 hours before pickup day.

Hi I too have a broken recycle bin. Left messages with recycle mgmt and have not heard anything.

Back at it 48 Central Ave. Cans left out. Trash and recycle were picked up on Monday!!!
