A. Greetings and felicitations. As of Sunday there is a pothole in Route 9 in Amherst, opposite its junction with Dickinson Street and closer to East Drive (Amherst College). It is (or at least as of Sunday, was) less than six inches deep, but over a foot wide. I contacted MassDOT about it per this form's instructions ("If the pothole is on a road that is a numbered route (Rt 9, 116, 63), please contact the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (DOT)"), and received this reply: On 31 Jan 2019, at 14:08, DOT Feedback District2 <[snip]> wrote: "Mr. Watson, Thank you for contacting us with your concerns. Unfortunately, this section of Route 9 is not state highway. It is under the jurisdiction of the Town of Amherst. Please contact the Town for further assistance. Regards, MassDOT"
