Description
UPDATE: This has slowed due to the season and colder weather. Guarantee this will begin anew the first warm day of spring.
There are countless cars playing loud music at all times of the day and night, but particularly Fri, Sat and Sun nights, from say 6PM-3am and Sat and Sunday afternoons. This street is a cut through to Broad Street and to get to the nightclubs/ highway, so we see a lot of traffic, not all of it loud, but easily 40-50 a day sometimes. This is all over Elwmood, not specific to this one intersection. Most cars at this time also do not stop at the 4 way stop sign.

I can't even imagine what it's like to live here with sleeping babies.

Totally out of control now that hot weather is here, and with less police around due to "blue flu" any and all headway or progress we made over the last year has vanished.
This issue is totally ignored, the thugs rule Providence. Time for the good people to get out while they still can.

This STILL has not been fixed, nor has it even been addressed AT ALL. BUT WHO IS SURPRISED?
On Thursday Dec 15, there were over a dozen boom cars going by while I was home, down definitely from the summer highs of 50-60 a day, but still happening. This, despite a new, stronger Loud Car Ordinance, passed over the summer by the Providence City Council (though no one knew, including me, that it passed, and I doubt it has been utilized of yet, at least I have not heard that it is being used by the police). The blatant disregard of a few wear on the very souls of peaceful, law-abiding citizens like myself and is wholly unfair.
I still fail to understand why this cannot and is not being dealt with. At $500 per ticket, it is good on two fronts, making people behave themselves and follow the rules and also it would create revenue for the city.

OVERTAXED homeowners. this issue had been outstanding for 1066 days. Downtown and eastside get all the enforcement. the rest of the city, tough. if u dont like it, move, thatd a common response when complaining. i also think if they enforce the existing laws on noise etc, there will be a backlash of "profiling" complaints so they choose to just let everyone do whatever they want. Free country? people are not free to annoy people constantly. oh, wait, yes they are in providence.
