Description
People cut through 8th Ave n between 58th st and 56th st. When they do this they are driving at a high rate of speed. A speed bump needs to be installed in this stretch of roadway to deter traffic and maintain a safe speed.

24-hour traffic counts in this 30 MPH speed zone are as follows:
E/B = 344 vehicles; average operating speed = 32.11 MPH
W/B = 145 vehicles, average operating speed = 29.03 MPH
Based on speed data this location does not qualify, however based on volume it would appear that over double the volume eastbound verses westbound indicates a transient component and would exceed the required 10 trips per household per day requirement.
Therefore, in order to have speed humps considered you need to call me to obtain a petition for to circulate to the residents of this block at 893-7843
