There is currently no Capital Improvement project to paint street lights City-wide. However, we will soon evaluate the need for this project as we do inventory of our existing street lights City-wide and determine which street lights need to painted.
As you can see from below, I have been asking about this for seven years, when corrosion was minimal and did not effect all poles. Many poles have since deteriorated. The Vintage Oaks neighborhood contributes significantly to the city/school tax base. I would think that is something the city would support by providing minimal preventitive maintenance.
As Mr. Nino alluded to in his previous e-mail to you, in the City's 2014-15 Street Light Painting project, we will look into including the street lights on Gloria Circle as part of this project.
Thanks.
Yours truly,

Original Request
I have been inquiring about the street lights on Gloria Circle being repainted (see below). It has been >17 years since initial installation, and many are starting to show significant corrosion. Can this be looked into? Thanks.
Mr. Nino:
I just wanted to make sure that the light poles on Gloria Circle are coming up for repainting. As it has been 18 years since they were installed, many are showing significant signs of corrosion that may progress to requiring more significant maintenance. Thank you.

Hi Mr. Landolfi,
We do not have a street light painting project this year, but we do have one scheduled in 2014-15 in which we will consider the lights on Gloria Circle..
Sincerely,
Ruben Nino

I am wondering if there are any plans to paint the streetlights on Gloria Circle in Vintage Oaks. It has been 15 years since they were installed and they are looking very drab, and in some case corrosion is beginning. They may look better painted black rather than the current brown, which fades over time, but I don’t know if a change is feasible. If this is not within your responsibilities, please forward it to the appropriate department. Thank you for your time.
Nick

If someone else pays for this, would you arrange to have the work done?
It’s been left go so long, it’s become an eyesore and perhaps the worst looking part of an otherwise well kept area.
For those that take a sense of pride in their homes, their neighborhood and thus the city, it would be great to schedule this work.
Please advise.
Thanks.
