That advanced warning red light ahead has not worked in over 10 years. The M.U.T.C.D does not require this type of signal. A sign was installed to alert motorists that there is a traffic signal ahead. If the anonymous motorist needs more time to respond to the traffic signal then maybe they should slow down.

If this sign is not required it should be removed or fixed to prevent confusion for non-familiar drivers. This is a 35 mph zone and traffic light is hidden from overpass, so speed is not an issue. Fix it or remove it - reopening.

Unfortunately the light can't be fixed without replacing the signals at From road and replacing the control box and running new wires underground to each signal. This has been looked into in the past and someday in the future maybe it will be done. As an alternative I will look into having the signal covered or even removed. Also I will have another sign added to alert motorists of the traffic signal ahead. I hope this is satisfactory to you so we can keep this issue closed.
