This doesn't solve your problem but the town director of engineering did respond to this issue on 1/25/19. The comment basically says that this flooding is not due to the storm drains being clogged by debris. It is a function of the rising water level in the reservoir and the storm drains being subject to flooding. Sounds like there's no quick fix to this problem.

You are correct, there is no quick fix to this problem. Our cleaning crew either has or will look at the outfall pipe again to see if there is a blockage. There are some temperature limitations to our equipment also. Vacuum trucks tend to freeze in the hoses above freezing. Our crews are trying to use the narrow warm windows to handle drainage concerns. Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for both of you for responding..I am concerned that this problem has occurred only the past few years. We have lived here for 35 years. Even when the water company property was redesigned we didn't have this type of flooding. The debris build-up in the drains is about 12" on one side of the street and 18" on the other side. Both drains are filled to 17" from the street level. I would hope that they can vacuum these drains if we get some warm weather before we get flooded out again.

Now that spring is here and temperatures are above freezing maybe this can be put on the schedule. To compound the flooding problem the plows dug up the curb next to the drain which will permit more debris to flow into the drain.

Still no response to vacuum the debris that is filling theses drains. Flooding last night was over the sidewalks again. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to hit this water in the dark and lose control of their vehicle to get some action, or perhaps the state will stop by and stock it with trout.

Once again we have a flooded road, water over the sidewalks. Can the town send someone to this location and see the extent of the flooding!

Please have this issue addressed by someone with the authority to resolve the flooding. Someone needs to see the extent of the problem on a day like today with heavy rain. I am tired of seeing the drain cleaning pass by on Waite Street going to who knows where.

Once again we had rain and resulting street flooding on Gordon Street. We couldn't park on the street because the water came over the tops of our shoes. To add to my frustration the sewer cleaning truck drove up the street by our house this morning. CAN SOME PLEASE TAKE SOME ACTION AND GET THESE DRAINS CLEANED!! PLEASE DIRECT THIS REQUEST TO SOME WITH THE AUTHORITY TO TAKE SOME ACTION, STOP ASSIGNING IT.
