Description
In the last 6 months the lights were updated. There is a 2-5 second left turn light folllowed by other options. I live nearby. 1 out of 20 times at this light does someone pay attention and turn. Usually other people on the other side of the intersection go on the reaction of others creating many, many near collisions. Solution: treat it like every other intersection in the world (slight exaggeration!)...either both sides start with a protected left arrow signal followed by blinking yellow or end with protected green arrow to turn left. Whoever decided to go with the current option doesn't drive much....

I have e-mailed Sue VanSteelandt who is the
Road Commission of Macomb County about this intersection in past. She sent her Traffic engineer out twice and said there was no issue with the light sequencing.
Maybe you can get convince them there is still an issue. Here is the e-mail address.
