I think it be would be vital to ensure that we maintain that which we obtain. A lot of emphasis is placed on obtaining new stuff and little effort goes into maintaining it, thus causing blight/ dilapidation. If this is turned into something, I would ask that some of the funding for this project goes into battery powered Outdoor Power Equipment, like a lawn mower, weed whacker, and etc. I think the local CMT can be in charge of the equipment and periodically seek volunteers to tend to the area. Public Works and Parks are tied up with other issues so it would be difficult for them to tend to the area regularly. Otherwise, no matter how nice the mural is, the only thing that will be visible will be the overgrown vegetation.
