Description
Traffic on Westbound Haste Street approaching Telegraph Ave frequently gets backed up now due to the closure of the right lane for the construction project. If one car makes a right turn all cars back up until the light turns red due to the high volume of pedestrians crossing at Haste/Telegraph. Even if no car is turning right the signal timing for Haste Street is too short and the green phase ends so just 4-5 cars in queue make it across. The traffic signal timing priority goes to Telegraph Ave and there is often a lengthy wait for the next green phase for Haste Street.
Can Public Works look at retiming the signal to account for the one traffic lane and/or relocating a curb space to allow thru traffic around cars turning right?
