Description
It's pretty impossible to walk through Cambridge, several days after the snow, without having to walk in the street or make your way across icy, unshoveled sidewalks. I see Cambridge Traffic Officers walking down the middle of the street, ostensibly of the same reason, without ticketing those who do not shovel. If the City's policy is that sidewalks are the property owners responsibility, and that responsibility is enforced through ticketing, can the City proactively do that? The current system of giving property owners a pass is unsafe to pedestrians, particularly the disabled and families with small children, and unfair to the majority of Cantabrigians who do the right thing and shovel.
