Area patrolled for speed as often as possible, which shall increase with better weather. Issue being forwarded for request to have digital speed sign re-installed to log the date/time/travel speed of vehicles on South 140th in this area.

If you really want to stop the problem (or at least put a dent in it) monitor each and every car that enters and exits Riverton Crest Tavern (er... I mean Riverton Crest Cemetery). That's where people are going to drink and get high. But "Anonymous SeeClickFix user" is unfortunately correct. Nothing will be done until an actual human is hurt (or worse). It's been going on for years.

I'm curious why they didn't just put in speed bumps when they put in the sidewalks. Or why they decided to leave out sidewalks for one small section (from 35th to 37th). Or why they put the crosswalk where they did. Most people cross from the east side of 34th, not the west so there is still tons of people crossing outside the crosswalk.

The new sidewalks were constructed with a Safe routes to Schools grant which had limited scope and funding. Unfortunately, the City did not own the right of way on the north side to build sidewalks and choices had to made what could be built with the funding available. We continue to seek opportunities to expand and improve our pedestrian facilities as funding allows. Thanks for your inquiry.

This section of S.140th will by address with the new Traffic Calming program. The radar driver feedback signs will be reinstalled as a first step since they worked reasonable well to remind most drivers to obey the speed limit. However, additional measures are being considered to increase compliance of a few errant drivers that are not as easily convinced. The intersections of 140/37th and 137/37th are also being addressed for enhanced stop control.
