You state this issue has been resolved by the best of staff's ability. What does that mean?
Based on my conversations with the City, this conclusion – given this issue has been ongoing and unresolved for many years – appears premised the fact that no one at the City has the expertise to address or identify the root cause of the flooding on Westover St.

Moreover, the facts on the ground conflict with the statement that the problem has been resolved by the best of the staff's ability.

For example, from my personal observation over many years, the major problem, among other minor ones, is that water is draining from the areas immediately west of First Sister Lake westward on the north side of Ferry St. then meandering over the property on and around the sidewalk at the house on the northeast corner of Westover and Ferry and eventually pooling at the north end of Westland St.

Consequently, the City needs to address the runoff from the First Sister Lake area before the Westland drainage problem can be resolved.

On another point, the City’s prior notice to neighbors in the area asking for a vote on the installation of a drainage system misses the point because it is the water runoff from First Sister Lake, etc. creating the flooding on Westover St.

Again, I’m not a professional in resolving flooding issues, but simply offer these comments based on what I observed from standing there watching the water flow that creates the flooding on the north end of Westover.

It would behoove the City to likewise examine the totality of the matter and render a decision that is truly based on the best of staff's ability as opposed to rank speculation or a simple demand for money to supposedly fix this issue. Or alternatively, can we simply elect not to pay the City property taxes until someone addresses this matter?
