This oak tree needs to be inspected for advanced decay and decline. Currently, I counted six large bouquets of mistletoe, a palmetto type bush is growing in the fork of the tree, a good size dead broken branch is precariously resting on top of another branch and there is a hollow hole in the side of the tree just below the fork. I have to pickup the dead branches nearly every time it rains and even more combined with wind. I am very, very concerned for people's safety and property.
Sincerely, Helen K. Heavey

We have inspected the tree and added it to our removal list. The tree should be removed in 6 to 8 weeks.
Once the tree is removed, we will request Sunshine 811 to locate and mark any nearby utilities as to not disrupt any of the utilities that my be underground. This can take up to a week to be completed.
Once we receive the notice from Sunshine 811 that the utilities are marked, we will schedule the stump grinding.
After the stump is ground, we will schedule a claw truck to return and pick up the chips. We leave enough chips to level out the area that was ground. This will break down over time and grass will grow over the site. If you choose, you may remove the chips, fill the area with soil and re-sod at your expense. The city does not re-sod after stump grinding.
Sunshine 811 does not mark irrigation. If you have irrigation close the stump grinding area and it is damaged, you will need to have it repaired at your expense and then submit a claim with the City's Risk Management Department.

From the porch view, a vertical crack Is developing between the trunk and a huge branch just below the fork of the tree. This branch is over the street, sidewalk and my property. I first reported my concerns with this tree March 14, 2019 and I read it was scheduled to be removed in 6-8 weeks. It is now August and I feel this tree has further declined since then. I would appreciate this tree be re-evaluated for an accelerated removal. I can provide a picture of the crack.
Sincerely,
Helen K Heavey
