Although the City did come out and replace the adjacent storm drain cover (nice work by the way), the primary concern of this inquiry was to repair the pot hole in the road.

The road repair work was started, new flashing barricades have been added to the hole, which the City workers have made even larger, but the work is not complete and this job should not be closed out.

This issue will be investigated by a Stormwater Crew. Thank you.

The heavy rains on the evening of 04 Apr 19 increased the depth of the (now 24" sq.) hole by several inches. The soil under the topsoil is either unstable or road run off is driving the soil into the storm drain system. Either way, this appears to be an increasing hazard, now that more of the roadway has been exposed.

The topsoil of the open hole has continued to erode.

Update 04-21: This traffic hazard has STILL not been addressed to completion. There has been no change since 04-06. It's just a big hole in the roadway, with flashing signs on it. Each time it it rains, topsoil under the roadway continues to erode down the hole. Perhaps someone could come out and fill this hole in ... please.

This work is STILL not complete!

Now, I have a bachelor's degree and I spent six years in the Air Force working in Civil Engineering but I am now 55 years old. I may not be as razor-sharp as the folks on the road work crews in the City of St. Petersburg but this (taken this morning) still looks like a big hole in the road to me, but I could be mistaken.

Re-open acknowledged, email received, Pavement Maintenance has been notified, thank you.

Update 05-24: It's still a big hole in the road. But now there is a white box painted around it and there is a good crop of weeds taking root in it.

Maybe some Orange Hybrid Impatiens could be planted to spruce it all up a bit in the meantime. They would match well with the signage palette.

Update 04-24: There was some hazard tape added to the signs. That's nice, but it's still a big hole in the road but. The hole is gathering trash from the street though, so at least it has some purpose.
