Update, not working

We have had our traffic signal contractor inspected this light and they have found no issues. The underground traffic loop is set back from the intersection at the stop bar. If vehicles pull past the stop line, the signal does not recognize that a car is waiting.
We will go out again today and confirm that this is again the situation.

This is still not working for actual people in their cars. Whatever the contractor is doing doesn’t match people’s behavior and that is much more important than how something is “supposed” to work. The position of the sensor is bad. When there is a ton of snow piled up on the side of the road and you can’t put your car in the most perfect position you’re out of luck. The same thing can happen if people are parked on the side of the road and it forces you out of that perfect and invisible position. I pull up to the line every day and it doesn’t help. Please fix this.

I used this intersection again today - or tried to. I was very careful to position my car near - but not over - the line. I was at the left edge, not in the center or near the right sidewalk. The light never turned green. Traffic on Granger stopped to allow a pedestrian to use the crosswalk, then resumed, without ever giving me a chance to turn left. Once again I had to turn right and make a u-turn down the street. Please fix this!!!

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We are looking into signal improvements at this intersection due to the number of complaints. Please know that when each complaint is filed, personnel do go and inspect this for problems. We will keep you informed of the repairs.

Thank you for the efforts but Still not working. I have seen numerous cars take a left on red out of frustration over the past three months, this remains a very dangerous situation.

Not to mention that when you DO get to legally pull out, people speed through the red light on Granger. I have come within inches of being T-boned by a full speed truck/SUV.

Have a 2 and 4 year old daughter going through this intersection every day. Please address as soon as you are able.

I went through this intersection yesterday at 2:15 pm, Worked fine.
Checked again this morning at 10:00 am, Worked fine.
Again, the stop line is set back from the intersection more than expected. If vehicles stop at the Stop Line, the signal WILL call for a change.
We will continue to check for issues.

I have been very diligent about stopping AT the stop line and not an inch beyond. I have backed up and gone forward repeatedly, to no avail. Is the city trying to 'gaslight' us?

I am sorry to hear your frustration with this matter.
We are checking the intersection for problems but are unable to replicate the complaint. Are there certain times that you travel through the intersection that we may be able to inspect as well?

The time I’ve noticed this the most is on my way to work, between 9:30 and 10 am, but this has been a problem at all times of the day. If our cars are stopped before the stop line, but the signal doesn’t work, what are we supposed to do? You say you can’t replicate the problem, but there are multiple people reporting the same thing. Are we all incompetent? Are none of us capable of judging this correctly? What about our neighbors, the ones we see turning left on red out of frustration? Are they just incapable of following these supposedly simple directions? It’s a wonder we’re able to drive anywhere else if we’re so bad at navigating our cars through intersections with underground sensors.

I travel thru this intersection at all different times and it never works regardless of the time.

What's the weight limit for the sensor? Literally the only vehicle that I have seen activate the traffic signal lately was a FedEx truck. Are small passenger cars too light to set it off maybe?

We have gone through multiple scenario tests today with the intersection. What we observed was that vehicles was being noticed by the traffic loop detectors because of its size. While the traffic loops are calling for a vehicle, it appears that the loops are partially functioning. We were able to determine what loops will call for any size vehicle as long as the vehicle is over the loop area. For your reference, we have painted the traffic loop detector GREEN that is functioning that will call for a light change.
We have contacted our traffic signal contractor and informed them of the situation and to schedule the repairs.
We will have temporary signage installed next week to notify vehicles on where to stop until the loops can be properly repaired.
Again, we apologize for the frustration it has caused and thank you for your patience as we have tried to resolved the issue with this intersection. We WILL get the issue resolved.
