Looks like they're getting ready to close Golden Hill. They aren't closing any roads that serve the brand new Jail. After all, with such a magnificent Jail, we shouldn't expect Ulster County to be able to afford to maintain a nursing home.

Look at the forces involved: males, police, violence, making it a growth industry, union shop... hard to stop that stuff.
But it can be stopped, it can be fixed: sell the jail.
Might even be good practice for stopping war. If we can't stop a jail, if the citizens can't resist the financial temptation, no way we can resist war. Way too much money.
Sell the jail.

sottile had nothing to do with this.It was the county because of a complaint from a glen st. resident.

I am told that fire trucks had to back up because of that barracade!

If this is a public road,then the alderman for that area should be notified.It's all who you know in Kingston.

I think contacting your alderman is a great suggestion.

Alderman Landi has special priviledges that no other neighborhoods enjoy. Cpmplaints come from just one resident. They have no right to restrict any tax paid road in the city. Most important, in case of a disaster, who do you sue because barrier prevented enough fire and emergency vehicles vehicles from preventing fire and rescue of Golden Hill residence. What other neighborhood enjoys priveledge of not having traffic and noise in front of their residence. Mr. Landie should inform complainer that he is no better than any other homeowner in Kingston. If you don't like nighborhood, MOVE!!!
