I shoved out and raked out all the muck from the top of the grate that I could. It's a bigger issue than simply surface one. Too many years of neglect and the neighbor has remodeling waste all over his yard. It drains into the catch basin. Things like broken bots of shingles and siding paper. It's a mess.

Water is backing up through the floor drains in my basement from the street drain. It's been 6 weeks. Any update as to when this "acknowledgement" will turn into action?

When it rains, my basement does the same thing. Not sure what the problem with is. Been like this for a long time.

Sad that it has been a problem for you too. I have a feeling the storm drain pipes all simply need to be replaced do to age. Hopefully it doesn't do too much more damage before it gets resolved.
