"HLOs" are Homeless Liaison Officers. These offices are tasked with trying help people who not want any help other than cash for there addictions. Plus they seem to have a small army of tax payer funded legal advisors to stonewall the police and the taxpaying public.
neither APD nor the city government cares about enforcing laws or the well being of the residents of this island. the only thing they care about is getting a big easy paycheck subsidized by our tax dollars
hey city of Alameda, we know homelessness is not a crime. but it certainly cannot be appropriate to let them live in places such as what’s shown here in this reported issue.
these areas are not intended to be used this way, it certainly isn’t sanitary or comfortable, and definitely detracts from Alameda’s visual value and appeal.
we are on our way of becoming what has spread in Oakland under its freeways, parks, and other areas.
in several other reported issues, it was said the city attorney has instructed APD not to take action to remove these homeless encampments.
Perhaps it’s time to replace our city attorney who’s direction is contrary to the will of the citizens. The encampments do need to be removed. Homelessness is not a crime but loitering on public property is.
There is a serious disconnect between what our city officials do and what is in the best interest of the city.
I appreciate that you guys are giving them this feedback, but at the same time I must also re-iterate that the city simply does not and never will care what we have to say about this:
Again: The city government of Alameda does not care about the residents of this island
The ONLY thing they care about - I repeat: THE ONLY THING THEY CARE ABOUT is getting rich at the expense of the taxpayers. That's it. That's all they're there for. That's all the police are here for, that's all the mayor is here for, the city attorney, etc. They're all a bunch of corrupt, worthless scumbags who sit on their high horse all day, looking down at us working class folks and laughing while they sip on their champagne. The only way things around here will ever change is if we, collectively, as an entire city, revolt against the city government. That is the ONLY way this is ever going to get resolved. So now you have to make a choice. Do you want to continue living in a city that doesn't give a c.r.a.p. about you or your kids, or your kids' kids, etc, or do you want rise up, force them out of office and elect a government that actually cares about this community and represents it? Or, as an alternative third option, we can also simply just leave Alameda. All of us. Deprive them of their tax base. They'll go bankrupt and end up on the streets. Alameda will turn into an abandoned ghost town with no economic future whatsoever. Personally, i don't think the first option is acceptable.
Dennis It's time to replace our entire city government, or for all of us to simply leave this city and deprive it of its tax base, forcing it into bankruptcy and shutdown

Thanks
Yet another waste of taxpayers money combined with ineffective police department.
Sad to watch our community deteriorate so quickly.
