The same is true for the other streets bounding the school complex: Lafayette and San Jose. VERY dangerous, with parents, mostly, in a rush to get to work or home therefrom.

Thank you for submitting your request to the City of Alameda Public Works Department. We are currently developing a new process for handling traffic calming requests. Each request will be scored based on various quantitative and qualitative traffic related criteria. The requests with the highest scores will then added to a list of requests (that would be reviewed for the next 1-2 fiscal years). Requests that are not selected will remain in the pool for consideration at a later time. We will add your request to the pool so that it may go through the selection process. We are now closing this step of the process. In the meantime, we will reassign this case to APD so that they may enforce the area.

I'm following up on this issue again. Just today there were two drivers going at least 40 mph on San Antonio between Chesnut and Willow just in the past 5 minutes. Speed bumps must be installed on this street. This should be at the top of your list as there are kids walking in the area daily who are in constant danger, not to mention other pedestrians and residents. I've left a message for Florence Lopez at APD and plan to follow up again this week.

The City should patrol the area and speak with school about informing its constituency to practice safety and consideration for the neighborhood.

Please try to give out some tickets. Speeders at 730am and 5-6pm. Some going >20 mph over the speed limit. Don't wait for a student to get hit!

We stopped by last Thursday to do some enforcement, only to find the school was closed due to the Easter Holiday. We will circle back over the coming weeks to try and give this some attention. Thanks.
