This is in response to your requests for curve advisory signs along Old Scaggsville Road in the vicinity of Pembrook Woods. We recently conduct Ball Bank Curve speed study at the subject location and the study result indicated that the requested curve speed advisory sign is not warranted at this time. Our field investigation result indicated that there is adequate line of sight to see an approaching vehicle near the road curvature. As part of our traffic analysis, we conducted a comprehensive safety study including police reported accident reports review and the result indicates that there was no accident along Old Scaggsville Rd within the past three years.
During our field observation we didn’t notice motorists driving above the posted speed limit, however, should you continue to observe any illegal and unsafe driving behavior, you may contact Howard County Police Department at (410) 313-2929. It would greatly aid them in determining presence if a specific time is provided where speeding is perceived most.
We will consider adding Old Scaggsville Rd in our list of roads for “Keep Kids Alive Drive 25” signs.

What a joke. There was literally an accident at this intersection 2 weeks ago that the police responded to. Some research you conducted. And I saw you all out there this morning doing your testing. Yea let's pick the rainiest day in the middle of when people are at work and determine theres no speeding cars! Seriously this is pathetic.

Both traffic studies results (Sight distance analysis and roadway geometric curve speed analysis) are not dictated by a weather. In regard to our accident report review, we don't get accident reports from HCPD for accidents occurred in the past two weeks.

A+ for the excuses and laziness. I understand it will now take someone crossing the street and getting killed before the county takes any kind of action.
