This actually happens all over Ridley Park; people parking facing the wrong way, parking too close to driveways, parking in driveways too close to the street, etc, etc, etc. The only place I ever see enforcement is around the shops on Hinckley; don't dare exceed your meter time by 30 seconds or Mr. Parking Meter will be right there writing a ticket.
Renters may park wherever it is legal to park, just like the elete who THINK that the parking space in front of their house is theirs to control. It is not. If you have a handicapped space in front of your home, it is legal for ANY handicapped vehicle to park there. Again it is not a personal space.
But don't just take my word for it, call the police dpartment and check (610-362-7401).
NOTE: If you put money in the meter you will not be bothred.
Well, HJS, you're a bit slow on the draw, this item was created a year ago! And if you had read the comments, you'd see that no one is talking about people parking legally. It is illegal to park on curbs, handicapped ramps, too close to corners or driveways. No one except yourself even mentioned parking in front of someone's house. As far as handicapped spaces, some of them are reserved for one specific person, they are the ones that have a permit number. No one else, even if they have handicapped tags, are allowed to park there.
HJS- Since I'm an elite, I have a driveway and don't need the spot in front of my house. I also don't need some renter parking on my curb and breaking it or my sewer vent that's right past the curb. I have to fix that stuff you know, I can't just call the useless landlord. I also don't need your trash, your car door slamming or your alarm honking at 1 am.
