It looks like they are adding more trucks. Tonight I counted 3 big ones. It is definitely business moving into residential area.

It looks like they are determined to make their personal business parking on 22nd Ave NE. I really have high hopes that city of Shoreline will address this. Our street looks now like industrial park !

Another concerned neighbor on the block here. Shoreline code prohibits vehicles over 80” in width to be stored in residential public ROW overnight. I ran a search with the USDOT #2458490 listed on the truck and found it registered to “Seattle Select Movers”. They have a photo of the same graffiti covered truck on their Yelp page confirming the owner. Not sure why they are parking/storing trucks on a residential road as they appear to be a very reputable moving company. Registered to an address in Seattle, their website states they charge “port to port” and the billing clock starts when they leave their lot in Kenmore.

Shoreline City Code also says: (1) home businesses may not park business vehicles on adjacent streets, (2) home businesses may not use or store a vehicle that exceeds a weight capacity of one ton, and (3) parking or storage of heavy equipment in residential zones is not allowed. Seems like these would also apply to parking heavy commercial vehicles on our residential streets.

It is getting really bad

This morning I counted 4 trucks.It is really getting worse.

This is a residential street. Model Traffic Ordinance states commercial vehicles over 80' should not park on residential street between midnight and 6 AM. This is not related to a home business in the area/neighborhood. They work for a moving company in Kenmore.

You may contact the non emergency police line at 206-296-3311 to report these vehicles parked in the area between midnight and 6 AM.

City of Shoreline, the code for home businesses re: parking business vehicles on residential streets is quite strict (see my comment above.) Why would similar rules not apply to non-home businesses that are not even Shoreline residents? Why are such vehicles allowed to park on our streets at all? So now residents will have to put up with the company moving the vehicles in the middle of the night so as not to violate the midnight to 6:00 a.m. rule? (And someone has to call the cops after midnight, really?) Why should Shoreline taxpayers be expected to provide free parking for this company?
The City really should do more on this issue, please.

Yes, I realize this is not a home business. I'm wondering why this non-Shoreline company is receiving preferential treatment that a Shoreline resident wouldn't get with their home business.

The vehicles parked on the right of way have been tagged with a 24-hour impound notice. We have spoke with the owners of the trucks and they will be gone by the weekend.
