It has been one month since this fire, WHEN is this house going to be torn down. This street is getting a bad name, with the house next door (214-216) being forclosed and property left uncared for, etc. with all the people from Blohm St who have committed murder, drug dealings, robberies, they all seem to come from Blohm St. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. Time to clean up our neighborhood. City - TAKE NOTICE. PLEASE.

It has been a month and a half since this house burned. WHEN is it coming down. People want to move on this street and are afraid to because of the blighted homes and problems in this area. I should think enough time has passed to tear it down. Too many people are hanging around and in back of this property. CITY NEEDS TO GET AFTER OWNER/BANK AND DO SOMETHING. It gives our street a bad name, looking like slumsville.

It has been three months now since this house was torched. When in hell is it coming down, we people who live here are discusted that things have to take so long to occur. The Mayor or someone should get after the home owner or insurance carrier to resolve this mess once and for all. Our neighborhood is starting to look just like a ghetto, discusting and run down, not maintained, when most of the folks take care of their properties.

Someone, needs to get something done about this burned house. Kids constantly play in back of this house and people have been seen going in back of house, people who did NOT live there. House is going to be home to undesirable transients if noone does anything about this situation. Enough time has passed, what is being done about this.

The same people own this house who used to own it, and now wants to build a 2 family. So they could put in more undesirable tenants, with loads of cars? They should have kept track of who was living there when they rented it out to all the illegals living there, then they wouldn't have had that problem. There were mattresses strewn all over the first floor apartment when it was rented. What kind of owner allows that. We don't need that kind of trash AGAIN in our neighborhood. We are trying so hard to keep out the trash and drug addicts and dealers. If they do rebuild, PLEASE, PLEASE, MAKE SURE THERE ARE DECENT PEOPLE LIVING THERE OR WE WILL ALL SUFFER AGAIN. There are decent people living on this street who really try to keep their property decent and clean,and have a safe place for their children to walk and play. KEEP IT THAT WAY.

Get together you like-minded people. Call your counsel person, Bill Conlon. He is very helpful and concerned. Go to a city counsel meeting as a group and ask for help. I found that the communities I admire most assist their municipality and never just turn a problem over.There are two choices...fight or flight. I'm older, still work and get very tired but know I have to "get out there". I find West Haven worth the trouble.

Thomas street seems like its getting like this too. In the past couple years I've seen several home owners move out, and 2-3 familes take the place in the houses. Does the zoning in the town ever monitor if the amount of familes living in a rental is even appropraite? You know when there is only 10 houses on a street but cars lined up and down the street each night something isn't right.

I agree the citizens need to pair up with municipality to address, does anything know if city hall monitors the volume of tenants in the rentals, and what the general guidelines are? (if any?)

At what point will the city finally do something about over populated houses and absentee landlords who rent them? Can't the fire departments use their codes to prevent this?
