Description
At the Kessler and Westfield intersection, the hand and walk icons appear out for walkers/joggers going northeast and southwest down Westfield and crossing Kessler. This path along the canal gets a lot of foot and bike traffic and really shouldn't be neglected.

Jhodapp, that's excellent that you're a in position to consult with the city on the expenditure of funds, particularly as they pertain to the improvement of pedestrian thoroughfares. As for my reporting patterns, I'm often trying to detail things that I can see adequately while driving and can easily recall later. Nonworking pedestrian lights are simple to remember as they are at readily identifiable intersections, unlike seeing a pothole on a long stretch of road and then possibly misreporting it afterwards due to not having a GPS positioned photo of it from the vehicle.
In addition, Mayor Ballard's vision of the city as one that could improve in physical health would be well fostered by simple maintenance of the preexisting pedestrian safety system. IMHO, pedestrians not feeling like they can receive safe guidance while walking about Indy might inhibit their desire to walk at all. Cue greater car usage and a further decline in general physical activity and poorer health.
That being said, I could try to report a wider range of pedestrian and general city issues. Although I'd bet we'd agree that any honest use of the site by any concerned citizen is a positive thing, no? =)
