Just some further context; we cut the hedge back last weekend (in case the city official looking into this thinks the hedge actually looks ok). The bits we cut off were rotting and it was evident that rodents use the space to eat small snails and leave shells behind.

Hello Staff has gone out and assessed the issue and it appears to be crown rot. Crews have begun moving mulch from base of plant to allow for better air circulation and removing infected areas of the shrub.

Staff has removed the infected shrub and replaced with new plant material
