That’s a bummer. I understand the need to make a risk-based decision and focus on the high impact traffic areas first. That’s why I waited patiently for 2 MONTHS after reporting this issue. I expected it wouldn’t get the highest priority, but I certainly didn’t imagine it would be denied. It seems like a no-brainer.
People come speeding up this hill to cut over to S 144th, especially after school lets out from Tukwila Elementary. With the shrubs and bushes blocking the view of non-stopping traffic, you’re suggesting to stop, then pull forward… until what? You’re halfway in the intersection and have to slam on your brakes?
I understand what the posted speed limit is in the area, but that certainly doesn’t prevent people from speeding. I was almost t-boned the other day with my kids in the car.
Nearly all the surrounding neighborhood intersections are 4 way stops, only further making this intersection “unexpected” for drivers passing through.
Very discouraging.
