Conditions along Webster Street are becoming increasingly hazardous for pedestrians. It is awful. The City needs to at least double the number of traffic control officers. All of the new taxes and fees that we are paying need to be prioritized for life and death issues.

Sadly our police department/city government no longer cares whatsoever about the residents of this island or the island in general, and have began a new policy of enforcing absolutely no laws whatsoever. As it stands now, criminals have a free pass to do whatever they want in Alameda with absolute, total impunity. Trust me. I've been complaining and reporting various crimes around the island for a while now and APD consistently ignore every complaint, they consistently let every single criminal get away with it. Many of these criminals end up coming back to prey on our communities on a regular basis, some of them coming every few days or every week. Even after a whole year of reporting it to APD, documenting it on video, etc. Sadly, they just flat-out do not care AT ALL about this island or its residents. THE ONLY thing they care about is getting our tax dollars for an easy big paycheck for essentially doing nothing, to pay for their luxury estates in wealthy towns outside Alameda and european luxury sedans/sports cars.

It's not APD , it's the political situation...police departments have been instructed by the mayor, judges,etc. They have been told not to enforce the law on homeless persons, illegal persons ( we are a sanctuary city), juvenilles,etc. Their hands are tied. They will get in trouble. Its ridiculous but these are the people who we have elected, we are a democratic state and county, and we have more compassion for criminals than law abiding citizens. Don't blame APD- it is above them. That's who you should be mad at...I know I am.

I posted in defense of APD, and not in defense of our current local government.

why defend APD though? They knowingly let massive amounts of crime take place on our island every day and actively refuse to cite offenders. I have a person who literally trespasses and steals from my property every week. I even got video footage of them doing it. I report it to APD every week for a whole year and they keep coming back and robbing my property. They did it again this morning. Ive even flagged officers down in person and they actually stopped the person. I thought the issue was finally resolved only to see them come back and rob my property again a few days later. Why defend APD when they let stuff like this happen and knowingly, ACTIVELY let criminals get away with crime even after a whole year of multiple residents complaining about it and even sending them video footage clearly identifying the perpetrator and catching them red-handed breaking the law?

im not literally not even exaggerating by the way. Literally, the same person comes to my property and all my neighbors properties every single week, sometimes multiple times a week. Every time i call APD and report them. I record them on video and take photos of them trespassing and stealing from our properties, and one time I even actually flagged some officers down and they actually talked to this person. Every week this person to this day still comes back to our neighborhood and robs all our properties, every single week. Im literally not kidding, this has been going on for a whole year. Why defend APD when they let this happen?

Basically I said APDs hands are tied by local and state politics. They would live to enforce the law, but arent allowed to. Hopefully this comment will go through

The site's got an Orwellian automated censorship system built in that will censor your post for containing certain innocuous english words that the dumb admins of this site dont' like. For example, the word "mur.der" (without a period in it) will get your entire comment instantly censored. To circumvent the nonsensical automated censorship system, intersperse the "trigger words" with periods. I dont have an exhaustive list since I dont knwo what all the trigger words are, but I can probably write a tool to figure out what they are. I was also planning on building a tool to help people use SeeClickFix without censorship b y having it automatically format their comments with periods between known trigger words. If i ever do get around to this ill let you know
