A permit is NOT required if less than 10 x 10. It also must be less than 10 feet high, it must not encroach the property lines, it must not have electricity or plumbing, AND it must be built to minimum standards with hurricane anchors. He is allowed to have 2 sheds if both are below 100 sq ft. each. Check your insurance, if his shed damages your house during a hurricane- it is NOT his problem. Thanks, Chet- Wally Watt Inc.

I was told if you requires hammer and nails it requires a Permit. The 100sq ft is for a prefab or out of box is what the girl at front desk claimed. She said it is misunderstood by many.

Basically, if it is not encroaching, not dilapiated, structurally sound, AND meets the size requirement; no permit is needed.
