Below is a link to info on safe needle disposal from the health department. There's no reason to waste city employee time to take care of a syringe. We can safely dispose of needles ourselves. They're not as dangerous as people think. You just need to be careful.

Thank you for the idea. However, picking up needles is a timely issue and we are trained for proper handling and disposal and city vehicles carry sharps containers for this purpose. I personally have had my shots to protect against blood born pathogens so it is no issue to pick up these. This has to be a personal issue if someone is comfortable enough to do this, other wise they should report it to this sight and I get the direct notification.
