I am a friend and family designated dogsitter , Have been extensively to dog parks in Chicago IL, Ann Arbor MI, Simi Valley CA. I can attest to necessary separation of small and large dogs. Just as small and large breeds differ in temperaments, so do their owners. I have witnessed large dogs including their owners get into nasty fights that required police intervention. Small dog compounds are perhaps cliquish and Peyton Place like among the owners, but rarely show aggressive behavior among the dogs which easy to control, anyway. Without a separating fence there will be problems, and whoever designed the park will blame the owners. There now, is that a big enough crystal ball to foresee the future?

There is that large grassy area right next to the dog park with signs that say no dogs allowed. People always let their dogs run there and it is right next to the children's play ground. At some point someone's kid will get bitten or knocked down. There really needs to be 2 separate dog areas for everyone's safety.

There is as much space dedicated to dogs as there is to human children in Christie Park. If you need large dog infra, go to the marina, albany bulb, tilden, literally 1-2 miles away. We are in one of the most densely populated places in the US, we don't need any more dog parks crammed into this tiny area. Bay Area dog owners come off as unhinged, out of touch, entitled. peace out<>
