It's STILL happening, although it IS intermittent. Interestingly, the violators are almost always SUVs. Perhaps people who drive those vehicles believe they are priveleged in some way. (Certainly, many of them DRIVE that way!) Since there are "No Parking" signs arrayed all along the road, the violations are not due to innocent ignorance, but to willful flouting of the law. Often, there is driveway space available, but it isn't used.

It still persists, usually with the same vehicles. Since this is the last house on Peck Road before the Litchfield/Torrington town line, I doubt the Torrington police ever come down this way. A few parking fines would go a long way in getting these people to obey the law, I would think.

It still happens. I don't know if anyone has been ticketed. The road is narrow enough that a fire engine wouldn't be able to get through, and the blind spot that is created, going into a curve, is dangerous to stray pets and pedestrians.

I've reported it to city officials on a number of occasions, NEVER - that's NEVER folks! - having gotten even the courtesy of a response.

It is clear that despite MY efforts in reporting this to the Torrington Police Department (and the Mayor's Office) - no one in Torrington gives a damn about the law or public safety surrounding this issue. I'm disgusted with how useless my comments have been. This medium of reporting is nonsense. Nothing gets done. When (no...not IF...WHEN!) someone's fender gets smacked or a pet gets run over...or a CHILD gets struck...I won't be smug about it, but I WILL be thinking...."I told you so!"
