The "sidewalk" that is between the former Macy's building and the parking garage/Hotel Vermont is actually an officially designated bike path. Without this path, bicyclists would be forced to detour to Battery Street or
South Winooski Avenue to move between the ONE and Downtown and the South End. While I certainly don't want pedestrians to feel unsafe using this corridor, no one suggests banning automobile traffic from roads because of a few idiots. I am always extremely cautious around pedestrians in this area.

There is no ordinance prohibiting skateboarders/cyclists on this sidewalk. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
