According to the owner of this property, he has been ordered to install a fire alarm system by the fire inspector at the cost of several thousand dollars. He said, it was ordered because his property doesn't have a second exit in case of fire or another emergency.
He said, because of the installation of this gate, the tenants only have one way out of the building in case of a fire. The gate completely blocks the ability to exit the property through the shared alleyway/driveway.
