The street sweeper swept the bike lanes on Centennial on May 14, 2019. The sidewalk has not been investigated due to the dangerous weather conditions we have had over the past few months. Most of our time in May and June went into tornado recovery. Centennial Lane is on a revolving street sweeper schedule to keep debris down for cyclist. We will be looking at the sidewalks within the next couple of weeks. Regards Jim B.

Thanks, Jim...we did notice the cycle lane had been swept a while back but were saddened that the pedestrian soace was still a mess. We will look forward to some improvement soon. Thanks for the information!

still a problem

since March...can anyone help? It is already over a year since “the trouble” was noticed

well, here it is October and still no action, let alone update, on the sidewalk. July was more than a “couple weeks away” and the problem is worsening as the leaves begin to fall and make it even harder to navigate the sidewalk safely since they cover over the existing dangers and add another layer of slippery debris on top. Can someone at least identify who is responsible and how we can get some help? This is dangerous and getting worse. With the sun going down earlier, it is even harder to establish safe footing.

The County is following the County Code sect. 18.402 Maintenance of Sidewalks are the responsibility of the abutting property owners. Jim B. 10/8/19

Thank you for sharing that information, Jim. When you say “the County”, does that mean your department? What will the follow-up action be? Is there a timeframe involved?

Thank you, Mr. Barker, for meeting this
morning to review the situation and clarify sidewalk maintenance responsibility as well as how the Comments section of See Click Fix works. Hopefully, property owners who abut the Centennial Lane sidewalk will be sent information so they can be made aware of and educated as to their responsibilities. It would be sad to have a pedestrian or runner injured due to neglect by owner’s - particularly so if the owners are unaware of their responsibility!
