Looking at the upcoming Transportation Improvement Plan through 2014 for projects that have been approved for federal funding, this stretch of Metro Parkway is not on the program. There simply is not funding available from federal grants to have this reconstructed and the Road Commission does not have enough funding coming in from MTF (Michigan Transportation Funds from gas and vehicle registration tax) to be able to take on this large of a project without federal aid.

Someone needs to work on doing whatever it takes to secure the funding needed to fix this road. This is a major thoroughfare through Harrison Twp and is heavily traveled all year long, but especially in the summer months when beach traffic is high. This section of road needs to become a priority for repair! FIX IT!

This is FINALLY being fixed. Hopefully they do it right and do it quickly. We don't want to preserve the budget for an inferior road - fix it right!

I thought there wasn't any money in the kitty for this project Mr. Road Commission? Does anyone there know what's going on? Late to salt/plow roads in the winter, can't get a straight answer on road repairs etc... What a mess. Hopefully Hackel will address this incompetence.

Looks like they finally addressed it. Now we'll see how long it lasts.
