Descrizione
Two tractor trailers were parked between Blake and Whalley on Saturday. One of them is a refrigerated truck and it appeared to be idling. When I walked by 4 hours later it was still there and idling. Last night (Tuesday) I was out walking and amazingly the trust was still there and idling.
Apart and aside from the fact that it is illegal for tractor trailers to be parked there, this is also a health menace in a city with high rates of asthma. Truck is Midwest Refrigerated Tansport, USDOT 1772901 Milwaukee, WI There is another number on the hood 282799
The other truck (which was moved) is owned by D. F. Carriers, Lowell MA 978-995-8926 US. DOT # 2167461 VIN HSJA8904

XYZ - I reported this issue. Whose number is that? I'm happy to give it a try I'd just like to know who I will be expecting to get on the phone.
And ditto to Pam's comment. This has been going on for years. To his credit, Jim Travers (when he was Director), would take the time to personally go over and deal with it on weekends. The trucks are also responsible for overflowing garbage receptacles. I think the drivers come off the road and dump what they've accumulated in the city trash bins.

Whoah nothing was fixed. They will be back this weekend or next or the weekend after.
I gave you "verified information and details" U.S. DOT #s and truck ownership. Did anyone try to call the companies and explain that their drivers are violating the law when they park there?
Here------- I got this off the web and I know it's the correct company because I recognize the logo

The police will come out.
If you post here by the time Dept of Transportation does something they will be gone. You first posted this on May 8 and this was what the Dept of Transportation posted on May 14
Parking enforcement personnel investigated this issue and found no vehicles in violation of city ordinance. We are closing this issue, but if the problem persists please generate a new request with verified information and details. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Alder Furlow, it's already there:
Sec. 29-53. - Parking trucks in residential zones.
No person having the custody and control of a vehicle or vehicles with capacities of more than half-a-ton, shall be permitted to park on any street in any residential zone at any time of the day or night. However, such vehicles shall be permitted in residential zones when in the conduct of a service being simultaneously performed.
Any operator or person operating such vehicle or vehicles in violation of the above provisions shall be subject to a penalty as set forth in section 29-30(a), herein.
If the city wants "better enforcement" they should start with good ol', tried and true enforcement.

Pam, I compliment you for calling but you sadly got the result I expected. The police will not respond to these complaints. I don't if its because they are otherwise honestly engaged or whether they view it as b...s.... complaints beneath their dignity; ie. not a law enforcement matter.
That is why I keep insisting that Traffic and Parking need to get out there and enforce.
Alder Furlow. Your efforts are appreciated. Can you push T&P to do something? Again calling the companies and letting them know their drivers are parking illegally may have some effect.
