Pearl Street is very dangerous, especially between Route 60 and Charles Street. The street is narrow to begin with, then it is compounded with school buses parked, parents parked while their kids are playing sports at Callahan Park and McDonald Stadium, doors opening as parents take their kids in and out their vehicles. Then add pedestrians crossing without using cross walks, commuters walking down Pearl and people just generally driving too fast.
This is further exacerbated by the fact that drivers think all of the side streets that intersect with Pearl are roll-and-go instead of stopping. The posted speed limit is 25 miles per hour, however, no one ever observes it. Not sure what the answer is, but I fear something bad is going to happen along Pearl.
