The City Council just recently approved our landscape maintenance contract for this very thing and our landscape maintenance company has begun a city-wide cleanup that begins on 228th and then fans out from there. The cleanup will be time-intensive as we are starting much later than normal. The reason for this late start is that the State of Washington passed some new labor law regulations the beginning of this year that rendered our existing contract null and void. After we had gone out to bid and replaced that contract with the new regulations, the State again changed the regulations, withdrawing what it had put into place the first of the year. So we had to redo our contracts again. Once our contractor has completed the city-wide cleanup the the roadway landscape areas, they will then begin the routine maintenance schedule for upkeep. We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and can certainly sympathize. We appreciate your patience.
