I don't see why all lights aren't left turn both opposing directions than straight. It takes too long to do left turn, straight one direction, then left turn, straight the other direction. This is also an issue at Miller and Maple.

I have considered this for a long time probably the worst timed intersection in the city.

I've timed a full cycle at 6 minutes in the past.

YES!! This is SUCH a mess when traffic is merging from the Kroger area and can't get past the light because the traffic from Stadium/Maple is still in the intersection from the previous light cycle. THEN the green turn light is like 30 seconds long so only 5 cars get through IF they're paying attention to the light and not their phone....it's crazy. By far the worst intersection. While we're on Jackson Road, the exit ramp from 94 light needs to turn green quicker, too, especially in the mornings. I've been back up onto the freeway before waiting for a light to turn green down there.

"There is never a pile of traffic on Maple". I would disagree with this. Traffic headed north is backed up a lot at busier hours making it so that cars coming from around Kroger turning left onto Maple have issues. And there have been plenty of times I have been stuck in traffic headed south on N Maple waiting for the light at Jackson to change. A lot of times it takes me 2 cycles to get past that light.

Maple and Jackson USED to be run by sensors. And both left turn lanes went at the same time! Traffic here now just stinks

I also disagree with the "There is never a pile of traffic on Maple." comment. This intersection has pileup issues in all directions on a daily basis. I attribute this to the close proximity of many main roads, the freeway, and another light right behind it at Stadium/Maple.

I live in and regularly travel in and around A2 - driving and walking - at various times each day.
Traffic is worse during Mon-Fri morning and evening commutes. It's a drag, but it is what it is. We rely on a lot of people for employment in the city who cannot afford to live here. Commuting will continue to increase. Drivers need to have a realistic plan for appropriate travel time, which will vary depending on the time of day, weather, road construction, etc. Matching expectations to reality may stop these complaints.

The entire area is an absolute cluster ever since the city removed car lanes and added little-used bike lanes. I know the city wants to prioritize non-motorized transport, but the fact is our population is growing, more jobs have been created downtown, and reducing car lanes just causes cars to idle longer. It would take hundreds of bikers to make up for this additional pollution. What a shame.

This is a very dangerous and busy intersection. A big part of the problem with the backup is caused by vehicles traveling West bound on Stadium that go into the turn lane as if they are to go onto Jackson, but actually stop prematurely holding up the turn lane because they decide to illegally cross the double yellow line in order to enter the Westland shopping area. Others wanting to use the turn lane as it is intended then have to 1) sit behind them while the line backs up, causing traffic to back up behind them. This risks cars stuck in the intersection, and possibly missing their time to turn onto Jackson. OR 2) switch lanes back onto Stadium in order to pass the vehicle illegally trying to turn while getting back onto Stadium just to go right back into the turn lane to pass the vehicle holding up the turn lane. Police could resolve a lot of this by setting up a few days to crack down and educate drivers not to cross left into Westland over the double yellow line. That if they are in the W Stadium to Jackson Rd turn lane then they need to turn left onto Jackson, otherwise use the nearby Maple intersection turn into Westland.

You're asking for enforcement in the City? LOLOL.
