The Board of Alders is in the process of reviewing the Mayor's proposed budget, and will soon vote to approve/reject it. The City refuses to release specific figures with respect to the cost of the 24/7 police protection, but it is estimated to cost $200,000 per year. Police District #2, which includes Westville has experienced a 25% increase in property crime this year (per NHPD statistics), and the NHPD does not have enough resources to add patrols. Please let our Mayor and Alders know how you feel about this important subject.
The photo is from a car near Alden Ave in Westville after thieves stole the tires and rims last evening.
