I submitted an application for a speed hump at this location over two years ago. It is apparently approved and is in the system but it still has not been installed.

Based on JCPD crash reports, this intersection meets the threshold to warrant a more in-depth study. We will collect traffic volume data at this intersection in order to conduct a multi-way stop warrant analysis. Please allow 4 to 6 months for this work to be completed.

Thank you for following up on this issue. Why is another in-depth study required? Doesn't the JCPD crash reports and requests posted on this online platform reliably confirm the urgent need for action on this intersection? How does the cost of the study compare with the installation of a stop sign? As a JC taxpayer, I am not sure I understand the justification for this additional cost and for the delay. Please don't wait for a pedestrian, possibly a child given the school located on the block, to die to accelerate the decision making process.

Ditto to what Charlotte said. There is a clear history of reported problems here, and the process has already stalled for far too long. Waiting another 4-6 months for more studying of what we already know seems completely unwise and inefficient.

An accident just happened at this intersection today, again. How many more accidents are required until the city concludes a stop sign must be added? Please don't wait for a pedestrian casualty. These streets are narrow and one-way, so there is a high likelihood of sidewalk involvement. There is a school on the block. Please take action, quickly.

yep Charlotte is correct. I was walking to Hamilton Park and saw a couple almost get pinned during the accident. The crossing guard on 3rd and Erie saw it unfold. Keep up the traffic assessment and see how many more accidents and near death experiences happens in 4-6 months.

The Council approved an ordinance to convert the intersection of Erie St and Third St into an all-way stop intersection. The stop sign and stop bar will be installed within the next few weeks.

What is the progress on the installation of the all-way stop signs? I live on this corner and see way too many accidents
