Description
Is there any possible way to get speed bumps on Jamestown RD towards 31st? The street is already a one-way street, but sometimes people can’t seem to follow the rules. The speed limit in a neighborhood is a max of 25, but cars drive by with a higher speed. It’s very disturbing when children are outside playing, as well as when our cars have been hit. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Hope to hear from you.

The City will be issuing a project for the design and reconstruction of Jamestown Road this summer and expects roadwork to being in the Spring of 2020. We will be holding some public meetings to gather input on problem areas and how residents would like to use Jamestown Road. We encourage all residents to come give input during this meetings.
Also, please call the Hyattsville Police at 301-985-5050 (emergency line) if you witness a vehicle hitting another vehicle and driving off. We also ask you to call the Hyattsville Police at 301-985-5060 (non emergency line) if you discover your vehicle has been hit, but did not witness it happen. Police complaint/accident data is one of the first things that get looked at when streets are being considered to be rebuilt or changed. If these type of accidents do not get reported, the street may get pushed down the priority list. The more documented calls received the more likely something will be done quickly.
