I think one of the reasons for this intersection being so unsafe is there are no left turn signals for the vehicles. Just to finally make a left turn in any of the four directions, drivers go through the red light. I'm not saying this is right, but during certain times of the day, you absolutely cannot get to make a left turn unless you assert yourself after the light has turned red and the opposing traffic has stopped. There needs to be left turn signals.

The walk signal has been replaced with a new version with a countdown timer on it. Some divers still stop in the crosswalk and drive through it on full red and walk--(yesterday a FedEx tractor trailer did this around noon). The crosswalk needs to be repainted-it should be redone as often as required to insure visibility).
The idea of adding a left turn arrow signal to the traffic signal appears to be a good idea that might reduce the problem.
The curbs on each corner have been damaged by large vehicles driving on them when making turns.

The traffic lights and walk signals are also routinely ignored by pedestrians just as often, they walk when they want to walk putting themselves into jeopardy.

A left-hand turn signal can only be placed by Penndot. So far, requests to do so have been rejected because of on-street parking close to intersection.

Pedestrians disobeying the traffic control device are breaking the law and should be cited. I have had to get out of the way of drivers who ignore the red light/full walk signal numerous times. On some occasions, drivers are watching the tail lights of the vehicle directly in front of them and proceed with that vehicle. Crosswalk lines are barely noticable and have been th this condition for months. I hope this situation will be resolved before a serious injury or fatality occurs at Baltimore and Lansdowne Ave.

Excuse me, the police do not "Hang around" outside the station and there are no windows in the station that look out that way. The correct procedure if you have a complaint is to stop in the station and ask to speak to an officer and/or make a report. The police cannot be held responsible for ignorant drivers, just as they cannot be responsible for people who walk against the lights, its a 50-50 deal.
