Thank you for reporting your concern to City of Cambridge via Commonwealth Connect. We have reviewed the information you provided our staff and will be investigating this issue further. This has been received as Service Request #2240.
The exact same thing happened last year with a tree that was planted on Brattle Street — it just tipped over when subjected to a breeze. If contractors are charged with planting these, please check the quality of their work. Cambridge is spending lots of money on planting trees — a worthwhile investment, but only if they are planted properly so they have a chance to survive and thrive.
Thank you for reporting this issue. These trees were planting during a volunteer day with CRLS students. A forestry crew will be out to straighten the trees.
Thank you for reporting this issue. The trees have been picked up and replanted in a more shelter location. These locations will also be replanted.
Have you considered participating in our adopt-a-tree program? If you are willing and able, it is a great way to help increase the survivability of our urban trees.
