Description

Two weeks ago, a moving van hit the tree (pictured) causing a large limb to dangle PRECARIOUSLY! on the power lines. We immediately called National Grid and the City of Albany to take care of the situation as it would soon fall on the power lines and/or A CHILD. The next day, one of those two entities (we are not sure which one) cut down the tree which was nice; however, they left a pile of LARGE branches directly on the sidewalk. We had to pile up the branches as best we could so that the sidewalk was cleared and so that cars could park on the street. Even still, the large tree branches block the sidewalk and make it difficult for cars to park next to it.

It has been close to two weeks since the branches were left on the sidewalk. We have called National Grid and the City to pick it up, but the branches still persist. I would gladly chop up the tree so that it could get picked up with yard waste pickup or take them somewhere else. However, a) I do not have access to a chainsaw/tool that can cut these large branches; b) Per doctor's orders, I am unable to operate heavy machinery while taking my current medications; and, c) it is not my tree/property (I believe the tree and land are city owned) and I'm a gal on a strict budget who can't afford to shell out money for someone to take these branches away.

Our calls to the City and NatGrid, posts on SeeClickFix, thoughts, prayers, and spells have remained unanswered for two long weeks. Please someone take these godforsaken tree branches away.
