This is problem all over Alameda. Can't PW regularly schedule repainting and/or use a higher quality paint along with better site prep? When red curbs fade, the result is a hazard. The whole purpose of implementing red curbs for safety and access is defeated if the curbs are not maintained. This needs to be a high priority as it is health and safety. Also, no matter how much we pay in new taxes, the same old boilerplate response crying poverty never changes. The auto-replies need to be reviewed from time to time. Why does the repainting of a curb, which should occur as part of normal maintenance, require the involvement of the police department?
The current director of PW needs to step up here and provide leadership.
