They are slowly removing it but it needs to be done completely this week. I’m working on getting this done as soon as possible! I am in constant contact on a daily basis with the building manager. They have been working on it over the weekend but there is a lot that still needs to be removed professionally. There are bags of concrete and metal that need to be removed, ASAP. Progress is being made but it’s very slow. This is the latest update. I want all of this trash, construction, metal and rubbish removed by the end of this week! That’s my goal!

BK14 Sanitation Supervisor issued a summons yesterday and will continue to monitor this location.

Great! What does that mean exactly issued a summons?

It means that the property owner has to pay some fee for violating the DSNY regulations and obviously, as more summonses issued as bigger a financial burden could be.

I’ve had to text the building manager literally every day to get him to move on it but it’s very slow!? They have been extremely slow to act.

This problem could’ve been eradicated in one day but they’ve drawn it out over two weeks & over 1 year so far.

Summons seems to have very little to motivate this slumlord!?

The DSNY Supervisor is on his way to issue another summons. This location is on his daily route. Hopefully, an enforcement will work rather sooner than later.

Unfortunately, the DSNY is not allowed to enter a private property for a clean-up, so they will keep issuing summonses and will make an attempt to speak to the super of this building.

So what am I supposed to do?

Are you sure they have the right location?

Sometimes when I read these closed 311 requests I can’t even imagine that they’ve looked at the right location when they say there was no violation and nothing needed to be done!? Obviously, that’s not true.

These two service requests are still open from June 8th! I’ve basically started two new requests yesterday with the same complaints!?

This rubbish and garbage that is attracting rodents isn’t going to remove itself!? Filing complaints with 311 has been pretty useless. Issuing 2 or more summons to the building owner has been pretty ineffective as well. What are my other options?

I have called 911 based on my 17 min + conversation with Detective Nuzzi at the local Brooklyn Precint. I am currently waiting for the police to arrive, so I can file a formal complaint of the threat of violence against me.

The police just showed up and took the report. They said in four-five days the report number will be available at the local precinct and then I can get a copy of it at one police plaza but it will cost me. It’s on official record now.

Officer Bradshaw was the officer who took the report. The 911 operator’s name was Patrice and her number was 1262 from earlier when I called around 3:42 pm.

How is this possible? It says the department of sanitation investigate the complaint and address the issue but the garbage is still there attracting rodents and is a possible potential fire hazard. The alleyway is littered with garbage it smells disgusting and nobody has done anything about it!!? How is that addressing the issue!? What is the point of making you request if nothing is been done!!!!!? In addition the building manager at 622 Marlborough Road threatened me with violence and I have filed a police report and I’m following up with the detective as we speak.

This matter is not being handled in an expedient, professional and courteous manner. It is ongoing and it is yet to be resolved properly!? I am disgusted and frustrated beyond belief!? So, what more can I do? The rubbish remains, I’ve reported this situation to 311 numerous times. Nothing has been done. On top of that the building manager threatened to come to my apartment a take a baseball bat to my head and punch me in the face.

Nothing has been done to remove this rubbish as of today, it’s been over a year. On June 3rd, they began but they haven’t completed the task.

What more can I do?

You can continue to file complaints with 311 which will result in violations issued to the property owner. The City does not clean up private property. Enforcement agencies are authorized to issue violations to encourage the property owner to clean up their property. If you have additional questions, you are welcome to call the Community Board office or your City Council representative.

New 311 Request! Two of my illegal dumping request to 311 have been considered closed and that’s not possible because the rubbish is still there!? How is this possible? I just made a new request!? Are they not able to see where the actual rubbish is actually sitting on the side of the building in the back and not the sidewalk!? I continue to put that as part of my description and details.

Please be advised that it can't be reported as an illegal dumping as it's not on a sidewalk in front of the property. You could report it as a Buildings Department related complain as "Blocked Egress" issue.

I don’t see that as an option on the 311 app. I’m kind of curious I have been notifying you of my 311 requests from the very beginning and this is the first time someone has told me this!? How many summons has the supervisor issued for this public nuisance? Is he still going by in the morning‘s to issue these summons?
